MEET OUR TEAM
TimeBank Waimakariri is an Incorporated Society governed by an executive committee. The committee is made up of a wonderful group of volunteers who help make decisions about the direction of Timebank Waimakariri, apply for funding, and are all fantastic advocates for TimeBank Waimakariri.
Thanks to funding TimeBank Waimakariri is able to employ a part time coordinator.

Co-Chair
Tracey O'Callaghan
Tracey relocated to North Canterbury in 2021 and has discovered that Timebank is an excellent way to make new friends and engage with the local community. She enjoys gardening, cooking, and upcycling, with op shopping being one of her favorite pastimes! Originally from the UK, she has also lived in Wellington and the Wairarapa. Currently, she works as a life coach and clinical hypnotherapist, aligning with her personal mission to create a positive difference. She has had a varied career in the past, including local politics, senior management and running a guest lodge - all fuelled by her passion for learning.
She resides on a lifestyle block in Waikuku with her husband Jim, cats, sheep and chickens!

Co-Chair

I grew up in Auckland, trained as an Occupational Therapist in Wellington and worked in Health Settings for 26 years before working at Presbyterian Support based in Rangiora for 18 years.
My interests include my grandchildren, gardening, art, felting and pottery.
We live on a large lifestyle block in Waimakariri.
I love all the learning and connections TimeBank offers our community and hope you do too.

Secretary
Trish warnes
I’m Trish Warnes, a single retiree renting a lovely townhouse in central Rangiora. I have
been involved in TimeBank Waimakariri for a few years now as I like the philosophy of
helping each other from our strengths. There is such a myriad of ways we can trade hours
with members, all without money changing hands. I like to use my resources wisely, but I
have excess at times and I think it’s great that we can find someone else who can use
what we have. I do a lot of craft and so I’ve mended clothing, sewed up knitting, replaced
zips and taken up hems for people and I’ve been helped by computer whizzes,
decluttering experts and garden lovers. My grandson likes to be involved with some of the
outings and events too. I am on the committee as Secretary and I can earn hours this way
but it’s also fun meeting the new people who are always coming on board.

Hi!
I live in Rangiora and have been around this region for most of my life, starting out on a farm near Sefton.
I first became aware of TimeBanking when I attended a talk at the former Hurunui TimeBank. The opportunity to learn and get to know and help my local community lead me to join the newly formed TimeBank Waimakariri about 6 yrs ago.
I soon joined the committee which has been an interesting journey and a lot of fun! Our Coordinator and Committee work well together and welcome input from members on ways our TimeBank can improve or new ideas.
TimeBank Waimakariri has done all sorts over the years from weeding bees to plant and crop swap to oyster mushroom growing and cooking and ceramic classes.
My own background is in health and I am also a potter so I have helped run the ceramics workshops. I enjoy gardening which I share with Betty a pekin bantam.

Hi fellow TimeBankers.
I am blessed to call Waikuku Beach home and I have also lived in rangiora, moving up from Timaru in 1980.
Being in the TimeBank (my 3rd since the 1980s) continues to enrich my life with people, and an appreciation of skills and knowledge shared.
It also supports my passion for a value based, alternative and ethical economy that is people not profit centered.
Supporting the committee is both fulfilling and fun.
I look forward to meeting more timebankers on our journey.

I am retired, but I have had multiple titles such as Artist; Nurse; Property investor and Landlady; Aromatherapist; Massage Therapist; Colour consultant; Makeup and skin care consultant; Perfume consultant; and Gardener.
I have been a member of a timebank for around 16 years. For 10 years I was active in Lyttelton Timebank. Then when I moved to Rangiora I transferred my membership to Waimakariri Timebank. Timebank has given me many connections and friendships within my communities through giving and receiving. It has helped to encourage my interests and creativity, and grow my practical skills in sustainability, gardening, health, art and crafts, decorating and design through meeting like-minded people. As a single woman I love the constant thread of timebank in my life, where I can be useful to society and source help or companionship when I need it.

TBW Coordinator
Mandy palmer
Kia ora my name is Mandy and I am the TimeBank Waimakariri Coordinator! I have been in this role since July 2021 and have really enjoyed learning about the TimeBank movement throughout the world. During my time as TBW coordinator I have gotten to meet some incredible people. I have also gained a lot of new knowledge and skills from our members which is what TimeBanking is all about!
